Carlo is an experienced lawyer as a result of being directly mentored by the Philippines’ top litigation and corporate attorneys. He has provided exemplary advice to a wide range of clients – from individuals with family law concerns up to foreign corporations with corporate matters.

He has been involved in advising foreign and local investors on the proper strategies and methods to set up their businesses in the Philippines, and advised Philippine corporations on queries regarding mergers & acquisitions, labor, data privacy, and general corporate policies.

He handled high-profile criminal cases by acting as defense counsel for congressmen and local chief executives accused of violations of offenses such as Plunder, and the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. He regularly appeared before the Sandiganbayan in cases involving the Priority Development and Assistance Fund, and public procurement, among others.

Carlo is also seasoned in commercial litigation and arbitration. His experience ranges from defending some of the Philippines’ top corporations in litigation concerning Public-Private Partnerships, to acting as counsel for a claimant in an arbitration with a subject matter of more than a hundred million pesos.

Carlo earned his Juris Doctor from the Ateneo de Manila University and was admitted to the Philippine Bar on 2016. He is the Managing Partner of Sanchez & Cunanan, a full-service law office in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines.

Catherine is a spouse, a mother, an advocate, and a humanitarian, legal-aid, and litigation lawyer.

Upon graduation from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2016, she started working as an Executive Assistant to the Office of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Capas, Tarlac, and was assigned to the LGU’s Legal Office.

In May 2017, Catherine was admitted to the Philippine Bar.

During her stint in the LGU’s legal office, she provided legal assistance and support to the Local Chief Executive, the LGU’s respective Department Heads, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and other LGU officials and offices including the barangay government and official, in carrying out the delivery of basic services and provisions of adequate facilities as provided for under the Local Government Code of the Philippines. She competently represented the LGU in administrative and special proceedings cases where the latter was a party. She drafted ordinances, contracts bonds, leases, and other instruments, involving any interest of the LGU.

As part of the LGU’s Legal Office’s mandate, she assisted in the investigation of erring LGU officials and employees for administrative neglect or misconduct in office and recommended appropriate action to the Local Chief Executive and the Sanggunian.

It was at this point also when she started her appellate practice by appealing decisions/adjudications of the Human Rights Victims’ Claims Board (HRVCB) for and on behalf of Martial Law victims.

Concomitantly, Catherine started her private practice and has since then handled several and varying cases involving termination of employment, criminal defense and prosecution, land and property disputes, contracts, family relations, special proceedings, and conflict of laws cases, among others.

As a litigation lawyer, Catherine specializes in family lawyering and lawyering for women and children. This advocacy of hers transcended the walls of the courtrooms and was appointed as the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Pampanga Gender and Development Committee Chairperson in 2021. As the Chairperson of the IBP Pampanga GAD Committee, she is currently and closely working with NGOs, such as the Child Protection Network Foundation Incorporated, in addressing the needs of children and women who are victims of abuse or any form of domestic violence or gender-based violence, whose cases are under litigation.

Catherine is also a lecturer at the Tarlac State University School of Law where she teaches Constitutional Law, Public International Law, and Conflict of Laws/Private International Law. Additionally, she is a lecturer on women and children rights and protection, solo parents’ welfare and protection, safe spaces for all, and labor rights and protection.

She handles and supervises Firm cases involving family law, children and women’s rights and protection, labor rights and protection, land and property disputes, and special proceedings. She is the supervising lawyer at the Firm’s Capas, Tarlac office.
